{poland} Flat Polish countryside Lovely flat Polish countryside – a cycling dream!
{poland} Staying on the river in Warsaw The view from by window in Warsaw – don’t worry it wasn’t horrific flooding I stayed on a boat on the river!
{poland} Long bridge in Warsaw Still on the one photo a day rule – I felt that this bridge was Warsaw for me. It is hard to explain why and I haven’t been able to capture it in the photo – but this bridge is a marvellous feat of engineering going from a hill where the main part of the city is over about 1.5 km to the river and then becoming a proper bridge over the river. It is huge, but why not let the cars drive down the hill and then back up onto the river bridge after a kilometer it would have been easier – that is not the Polish way though – to give up easily – and they certainly didn’t with this bridge!
{poland} Stork on a telegraph pole in Polish countryside Storks seem to live on telegraph poles – I have no idea what they did before they were invented – but now they seem to be very important. The nest structures aer amazing and I would loev to see one built from scratch as it must be a real balancing game. They seem to add a new nest on top of old ones each year some I have seen were up to a meter thick.
{poland} People working manually in the fields in Poland Hopefully you can just make out the people manually working the fields – here cutting grass. In Poland I only saw two tractors all the rest of the field work was done by either horse or hand.
{poland} Frogs in a pond in Poland A pond – you would not believe the noise of the frogs in the ponds that I have cycled by this one was especially loud! The noise of about 50 frogs at the same time is amazing and I even confused it with a tractor to begin with.
{poland} Lake in Manchurian Poland Lake in the Manchurian region of Poland. This regiond is filled with hundreds of lakes – I resisted temptation from jumping in though and kept on pedalling!
{poland} Aushwitz Poland Aushwitz – I could only take one photo – I felt it would be impossible to capture the place on film. Here are the remains of one of the camps – as you can see it tails off into the distance – these places were massive.
